Here's a short but very enthralling video showing a family of elephants crossing a jeep road in the Serengeti. The herd circles the youngest elephant, protecting it, while some of the other younger ones are curious about the jeep and come closer to explore. But it's the matriarch that really investigates closely towards the end, which is just when the video ends...

Here's a fun video of Zanzibar Island, off the coast of Tanzania in eastern Africa. It guides you through two of the more popular tourist attractions and activities, the Spice Tour and walking through Jozani Forest and the indigenous Red Colobus Monkey. Brings back wonderful memories!

Here's a really interesting video of the Serengeti in Tanzania. It's really well shot, produced and edited, and includes herds of wildebeest, views of the African plains and Mount Kilimanjaro and more. But unquestionably the highlight is the amount of time and detail spent on the dung beetle, recorded in both real time and as time-lapse video. On our trip to Africa, and the Tanzanian parks, our guide pointed out a dung beetle on one of our trips through the Serengeti - it really is an incredible and hard-working creature! Well worth a watch; skip to the last half to see the dung beetles right away...

Here's a great video showing some of the wonderful positive impact young people (and those of all ages for that matter) can have when visiting Africa. This video focuses on the island of Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania, and the various programs in place for visitors to volunteer and help the local community. From helping with schools, education, construction and litter cleanup, this looks like a wonderful organization. Some great visuals in this video promoting hot air balloon safaris over the Serengeti. Highlights are the elephant family crossing the plains, the wildebeest herds and a pool of hippos. Some of the landscapes are pretty spectacular as well, although I find the music far too overdramatic. Regardless, this is an interesting way to experience a safari in Tanzania, one which I wish we had had enough time in our schedule to do last year...
